Description
Venture Horizons: Current & Emerging Trends in Entrepreneurial Funding
TiE Carolinas is hosting a panel discussion on current and emerging trends in Venture Capital at its November 17th Networking Dinner event that will be held at the prestigious Bay 7 in the American Tobacco Campus in Durham NC.
As groundwork for looking at emerging trends the panel discussion will review notable developments over the past year including Cloud, super angels, stock market rebound, social software, mobile and storage. These developments resulted in a very active software ecosystem, M&As included mega deals like McAfee (Intel), Sybase (SAP) and 3PAR (HP); IPO's like MakeMyTrip, Qlik Technologies; and a parade of startup acquisitions and large financing rounds. A key factor that drove the aforementioned developments included the fact that companies had substantial amounts of cash with very few options for investing.
The panel discussion and networking dinner event will be held during Triangle Entrepreneur Week (TEW) which is a 5 day event that TiE Carolinas is co-sponsoring. TEW consists of a series of sessions aimed at connecting Triangle area entrepreneurs with Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists and fellow entrepreneurs, trough investor presentations and workshops held throughout downtown Raleigh and Durham.
Dinner will be catered by Bombay Grille.
