Dr. Li-An  Yeh earned a B.S.  in Agricultural Chemistry at National Taiwan University, M.S. in Chemistry at Kent State and Ph.D in Biochemistry at Purdue University.  She completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship, focused on Membrane Transport/Cell Differentiation, at Harvard University and spent 20 years in industry leading research and leads/drug discovery efforts for companies including Eli Lilly and Company, PerkinElmer Life Sciences, Phytera, OsteoArthritis Sciences, Inc. and Pfizer. 

Dr. Yeh is currently the Director of the Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise (BRITE) program at North Carolina Central University which was created specifically to train the next generation of biotechnology scientists and expand North Carolina’s already booming biotech industry.  By establishing a faculty of nationally recognized scientists and educators and partnering with premiere biotech companies like Eli Lilly and Company, Biogen Idec, Novozymes and Wyeth to create curriculum, BRITE is becoming one of the leading biotechnology educational institutions in the nation.
