Machelle Sanders was named the head of Biogen Idec's Research Triangle Park site in late 2011. Sanders has been in RTP since joining Biogen in 2007 and was appointed Vice President of U.S. Quality Operations in October 2009. In 2010, she was promoted to the head of global quality assurance. Sanders has held leadership positions in quality and manufacturing operations functions at other pharmaceutical and biotech firms including Purdue Pharmaceuticals and Akzo Nobel-Diosynth.
