Description
First Flight Venture Center (FFVC) in RTP is one of the oldest and largest technology incubators in the US. FFVC hosts over 35 companies or more at the Davis Drive facility on an annual basis. The tenants cover a broad range of technologies including life science, medical device, bio-agriculture, nanotechnology, IT, gaming and social/mobile.
Over the last two decades FFVC has graduated 250 technology companies including local successes United Therapeutics, Bloodhound and Ganymede Software.
FFVC is a self-sustaining non-profit entity, devoted solely to technology incubation, and is an important cog in the start-up environment in the Triangle.
Ronda Closner is an experienced entrepreneur with over 25 years in the technology and venture capital space. Closner began her career in telecommunications and eventually moved into the software quadrant. She helped to found New Meadows Partners, a small venture capital firm out of Los Gatos, CA. This fund successfully built and sold several companies, one of which was purchased by Oracle Corporation in 1995.
